Important safety notice for unisex necklaces in accordance with Regulation (EU) 2023/988 on general product safety (GPSR)

This is a targeted safety notice for the correct and safe use of unisex necklaces (chains, leather cords, beaded necklaces, pendants, chokers, and long models, including magnetic clasps). Due to cords/chains around the neck, small parts, sharp edges of pendants, and skin contact, please follow the instructions below to avoid injuries and skin reactions.

Basic safety and handling principles

• Keep out of reach of children: Clasps, beads, and magnets pose a swallowing hazard; the product is not a toy.
• Check before wearing: Check the strength of the clasp, loops, cord, and joints; do not use a damaged necklace.
• Risk of entanglement: Do not wear long or heavy necklaces during sports, sleep, working with machines, or in situations with increased risk of catching on objects or clothing.
• Magnetic clasps: Keep strong magnets away from payment cards and sensitive electronics; persons with pacemakers/ICDs must maintain a safe distance.

Proper and safe use

• Correct length and fit: Choose a length that does not press on the neck or restrict breathing or movement; pendants must not have sharp edges facing the skin.
• Contact with water and chemicals: Remove the necklace before showering, swimming, sports, and applying cosmetics/perfumes; saltwater, chlorine, and sweat accelerate corrosion and wear.
• Layering and pendants: Minimize tangling of chains when layering; secure larger pendants so they do not hit the chest during movement.

Cleaning, maintenance, and storage

• Cleaning according to material: Wipe steel/titanium with a soft damp cloth and dry; polish silver with a soft cloth; clean leather cords dry and treat with a suitable product; clean natural stones only with a slightly damp cloth without chemicals.
• Maintenance of joints: Regularly check loops, rings, and clasps; tighten or replace loose parts. Rinse and dry after contact with sweat or salt.
• Storage: Store separately in a case or pouch, away from moisture and direct sunlight; keep magnetic parts away from sensitive items.

Specific health warnings

• Allergies and sensitive skin: Some metals (e.g., nickel), dyes, adhesives, and leather may cause reactions; if redness, itching, or swelling occurs, remove the necklace and consult a doctor if necessary.
• Skin hygiene: After intense sweating, clean and dry both the skin and the necklace to prevent irritation.

Disposal

• Safe disposal: Hand over metal parts for metal recycling; sort leather, textile, and plastic parts according to local regulations. Wrap small parts to prevent risk to children and animals.

Incidents and contact

• In case of an incident (strangulation, allergic reaction, injury due to entanglement), stop using the product immediately. Keep the product and proof of purchase for reporting purposes.
