IK-27680 Damask Kitchen Knife Set - Multicolored
Quality crafted kitchen knives at an affordable price! The structure of the material alternates multiple layers of different types of steel. These layers are bonded using the method of blacksmith welding into a single unit (in this knife, there are 67 layers). The handle is made of solid wood, and each knife in this set is unique in its color. When using, please note that the knife is very sharp and is intended for cutting food (not frozen and not suitable for chopping food). We recommend washing the knife immediately after use, drying it, and storing it in its place. The advantages of knives from this series are their extraordinary sharpness and hardness (HRC60±2).
Damask steel is produced by repeatedly folding, layering, and re-folding several strips of steel with different properties, thus creating a characteristic pattern that can have dozens to hundreds of layers. Damask steel is long-lasting sharp and resistant due to the grouping of materials with different properties.
The core steel is made from one of the highest-rated steels, VG-10. Highly abrasion-resistant stainless steel.
Steel V Gold 10 is commonly known as VG-10 or sometimes V-Kin-10 (kin is the abbreviation for "gold" in Japanese). VG-10 is a unique formulation of steel with a high carbon content and contains chromium, vanadium, molybdenum, and cobalt. The steel is specifically designed for the highest quality knives used both in the kitchen and in the field. VG-10 is often referred to as "super steel" because it is designed to retain sharpness and durability without becoming brittle. It is most commonly used in the production of damask knives. When the steel is used as a core and is layered with another type of steel, the best properties of the knives are achieved, making them both strong, hard, sufficiently flexible, and resistant to corrosion.

Important Safety Notice for Knife Sets in accordance with Regulation (EU) 2023/988 on General Product Safety (GPSR)
This is a targeted safety notice for the correct and safe use of knife sets. Due to their weight, blade size, and specific intended use, it is essential to follow the instructions below to prevent serious injuries. This notice is issued based on the requirements of the Regulation of the European Parliament and of the Council (EU) 2023/988 on general product safety (hereinafter referred to as "GPSR").
Basic Safety and Handling Principles
- Keep out of reach of children: Knives have sharp edges; there is a risk of cuts or punctures.
- Check before use: Before each use, check the integrity of blades, handles, rivets, and sheaths or blocks. Do not use a damaged or loose knife.
- Safe handling: Cut on a stable board, protect fingers by folding them into a "claw," cut away from the body, and never try to catch a falling knife.
- Follow manufacturer’s instructions: Follow the information on the intended use of the knives in the set (e.g., chef’s, carving, bread) and respect the stated limitations.
Proper and Safe Use
- Use as intended: Use each knife in the set for the purpose it is designed for (e.g., cutting food, chopping herbs, carving).
- Improper use: Do not use for prying, screwing, opening cans, chopping bones or frozen foods unless the knife is explicitly designed for that; do not expose to fire, extreme temperatures, or aggressive chemicals.
- Safe environment: Do not leave knives in the sink with water or under piles of dishes; store them immediately in a safe place to prevent injury.
Cleaning, Maintenance, and Storage
- Cleaning: After use, wash by hand with a mild detergent and dry immediately. Do not use a dishwasher or abrasive sponges and pastes.
- Maintenance: Regularly hone with a sharpening steel and sharpen as needed with an appropriate sharpening tool. Do not use damaged knives (chipped blade, loose handle).
- Storage: Store safely in a block, sheaths, or on a magnetic strip with a protected edge; position blades to minimize risk of contact.
Specific Health Warnings
- Cross-contamination: When working with raw meat, use separate boards and knives; clean and dry thoroughly after use.
- Injuries: In case of a cut, stop work immediately, clean and treat the wound; seek medical help for deep or bleeding injuries.
Disposal
- Safe disposal: Wrap dull or damaged knives in sturdy material (e.g., cardboard, blade guards) and dispose of according to local regulations to prevent injury to waste handlers.
Incidents and Contact
- In case of an incident (injury or other damage), stop using the product immediately. Keep the product and proof of purchase for complaint processing.
