Important Safety Notice for Anklets in Compliance with Regulation (EU) 2023/988 on General Product Safety (GPSR)

This is a targeted safety notice for the correct and safe use of anklets (chain, beaded, textile/cord, leather, with pendants and magnetic or screw clasps). Due to small parts, placement around the ankle, and the risk of entanglement, please follow the instructions below.

Basic Safety and Handling Principles

• Keep out of reach of children: Small parts (beads, rings, pendants, magnets) pose a choking hazard; the product is not a toy.
• Check before wearing: Inspect the lock, loops, rings, and cord/elastic; do not use a damaged anklet.
• Risk of entanglement: The anklet may get caught in shoe straps, clothing, sports equipment, or on a bicycle; do not wear during activities requiring free movement.
• Magnetic clasps: Keep away from payment cards and sensitive electronics; persons with pacemakers/ICDs must maintain a safe distance.

Proper and Safe Use

• Correct size: The anklet should fit comfortably – it must not press excessively or slip under the heel; discontinue use if the ankle swells.
• Activities: Do not wear the anklet during sports, swimming, working with machinery, on escalators, or in public transport; minimize long dangling pendants.
• Contact with water and chemicals: Remove the anklet before showering, sauna, swimming, and applying cosmetics/perfumes; salt water, chlorine, and sand accelerate wear.
• Footwear and clothing: Check that socks or sandal straps do not catch on the anklet; loosen or remove it before putting on shoes.

Cleaning, Maintenance, and Storage

• Cleaning by material: Wipe metal with a soft damp cloth and dry; polish silver with a soft cloth; clean leather dry and treat with appropriate products; wash textile/silicone with mild soap and water.
• Part maintenance: Regularly check and replace worn elastics, loose rings, and clasps; have loose stones/pendants professionally tightened.
• Storage: Store separately in a case or pouch, dry and away from direct sunlight; keep magnetic parts away from sensitive items.

Specific Health Warnings

• Allergies and sensitive skin: Some metals (e.g., nickel), dyes, adhesives, and leather may cause reactions; if redness, itching, or swelling occurs, remove the anklet and consult a doctor if necessary.
• Skin irritation and abrasions: After intense walking, sweating, or contact with sand, clean and dry both skin and anklet.

Disposal

• Safe disposal: Hand over metal parts for metal recycling; sort leather, textile, and plastic components according to local regulations. Wrap small parts to prevent risk to children and animals.
