VG-10 is often referred to as "super steel" because it is designed to retain sharpness and durability without becoming brittle. It is most commonly used in the production of Damascus knives. When the steel is used as a core and is layered with another type of steel, the best properties of the knives are achieved, making them strong, hard, sufficiently flexible, and resistant to corrosion due to the combination of two types of steel.
