Important safety notice for hair ties in accordance with Regulation (EU) 2023/988 on general product safety (GPSR)

This is a targeted safety notice for the correct and safe use of hair ties (textile, silicone, seamless, with metal clasp, scrunchies, and decorative). As they may contain small parts, strong elastic tension, and metal elements and can get tangled in hair, please follow the instructions below.

Basic safety and handling principles

• Keep out of reach of small children: Decorations, beads, and loose metal clasps pose a choking hazard; the product is not a toy.
• No sharp edges: Before use, check metal clasps and plastic parts for sharpness, cracks, and looseness; do not use damaged hair ties.
• Elastic tension and snapping: When stretching, do not point the hair tie towards the face; sudden snapping can cause eye or skin injury.
• Long decorations and ribbons: Pose a risk of catching or strangulation; do not use during sleep or unsupervised play.

Proper and safe use

• Appropriate size and number of wraps: Secure so it holds but does not press excessively; prolonged strong tightening can damage hair roots.
• Removal: Loosen the hair tie slowly; do not pull on the ends. If tangled, use a comb or a little oil/water.
• Activities: For sports, choose soft models without metal parts and without hanging decorations; do not wear hair ties on small children during sleep.
• On the wrist: Do not wear hair ties around the wrist for long periods; they can restrict blood flow and cause skin irritation.

Cleaning, maintenance, and storage

• Cleaning: Wash textile and silicone hair ties by hand with mild soap, then dry thoroughly; do not use aggressive cleaners or solvents.
• Maintenance: Replace stretched, cracked, or thickened hair ties; remove loose metal clasps or discard the product.
• Storage: Store dry, away from direct sunlight and high temperatures, which accelerate material aging.

Specific health warnings

• Allergies and sensitive skin: Some hair ties may contain latex, nickel in metal clasps, or dyes; discontinue use if redness or itching occurs.
• Hair damage: Prolonged strong tightening and frequent wearing in the same place can lead to hair breakage (traction damage); alternate hairstyle positions.
