Due to the sharp blade, fixed construction, carrying in a sheath, and use in the field, it is essential to follow the instructions below to avoid injuries and damage. The notice is issued based on the requirements of the European Parliament and Council Regulation (EU) 2023/988 on general product safety.

Basic safety and handling principles

• Keep out of reach of children: The knife is not a toy; there is a risk of cuts or punctures.
• Sheath and carrying: Always carry the knife in a secured sheath; when drawing and inserting, keep fingers away from the blade edge and point the tip away from the body.
• Inspection before use: Check the integrity of the blade, handle, guard, rivets, and sheath. Do not use a damaged or loose knife.
• Safe workspace: Cut on a stable surface, away from the body and other people; never try to catch a falling knife.
• Respect local rules: When carrying the knife, comply with local laws and restrictions.

Proper and safe use

• Use as intended: Designed for cutting suitable materials (food, wood, ropes). Do not use for prying, screwing, nailing, as a hammer, or chisel.
• Grip and cutting direction: Hold a firm grip; keep fingers out of the blade’s path. When carving, support the material and work in a controlled manner.
• Batoning and chopping: Perform only with knives designed for this and with proper technique; avoid contact with stone and metal. Do not use a damaged knife.
• Contact with food: After use on raw food, clean the knife immediately to prevent cross-contamination.

Cleaning, maintenance, and storage

• Cleaning: Wash by hand with mild detergent and dry immediately; do not place the knife or sheath in the dishwasher.
