Important Safety Notice for Baking and Cooking in Compliance with Regulation (EU) 2023/988 on General Product Safety (GPSR)

This is a targeted safety notice for the proper and safe use of baking and cooking products. This notice is issued based on the requirements of the European Parliament and Council Regulation (EU) 2023/988 on General Product Safety (hereinafter referred to as "GPSR").

Basic Safety and Handling Principles

• Keep out of reach of children: Risk of burns, steam scalds, cuts, and falling heavy containers.
• Check before use: Inspect for cracks in glass/ceramics, deformations, loose handles, and damaged non-stick coatings. Do not use damaged products.
• Safe heat handling: Use dry oven mitts, point handles inward, do not overheat empty pans, and never leave cooking unattended.
• Ventilation and fire safety: Cook in a well-ventilated area; keep flammable materials away from fire. Do not extinguish grease fires with water – cover with a lid or use an appropriate fire extinguisher.
• Follow manufacturer’s instructions: Respect pictograms and limits (oven, induction, microwave, temperatures) and recommended tools.

Proper and Safe Use

• Use as intended: Use only for food preparation in the manner for which the product is designed (e.g., baking molds, pans for stovetop).
• Improper use: Do not place plastics/silicone directly on flame or grill; do not put metal in the microwave; do not cut with metal knives on non-stick surfaces; avoid sudden temperature shocks.
• Safe environment: Maintain a clean, dry, and stable surface; keep appliance cords away from edges; place hot containers on heat-resistant mats.

Cleaning, Maintenance, and Storage

• Cleaning: Allow to cool; do not cool hot glass/ceramics under running water. Clean according to material; avoid abrasive sponges and harsh cleaners especially on non-stick coatings.
• Maintenance: Treat cast iron with oil as instructed; repair damaged coatings and loose handles professionally or discard the product.
• Storage: Store dry and clean; protect fragile items from impact, store heavy pots stably on lower shelves; keep sharp tools separately.

Specific Health Warnings

• Cross-contamination: Use separate utensils and boards for raw meat and cooked food; thoroughly wash tools and hands after contact with raw ingredients.
• Fumes and smoke: Ensure ventilation at high temperatures; do not overheat pans with surface coatings.
• Allergies and sensitive skin: Materials and surface treatments may cause reactions; discontinue use if irritation occurs and consult a doctor if necessary.

Disposal

• Safe disposal: Wrap broken glass/ceramics in sturdy material; discard damaged coated pans according to local regulations; hand over electrical accessories to electronic waste collection.

• In case of an incident (burn, scald, fire, or other damage) immediately stop using the product. Keep the product and proof of purchase for reporting purposes.
